Why Success Happens in Community (Not Courses)
Over the years, I’ve invested in countless courses. Some were great, others... not so much.
But here’s the hard truth: courses alone don’t create success.
This past Saturday, I hosted my first call on Zoom for a small group of entrepreneurs in my 4-Week YouTube Traffic Bootcamp.
I asked a simple question, "Why are you here?"
I was surprised by the answers.
Many of them said things like:
- I don't buy courses anymore I instead join coaching groups like this.
- I join programs that have accountability built in.
- I would rather do a group instead of a course.
- And so on.
Here's the point:
You don’t need more information—you need accountability, support, and real-time feedback from people who are in the trenches with you.
That’s why community is more powerful than courses when it comes to achieving real results.
Here’s why:
1. Accountability Drives Action
It’s easy to buy a course and never finish it (we’ve all been there). But when you’re in a group where people check in on your progress, you show up and take action.
- A deadline becomes real when others expect you to meet it.
- Weekly check-ins keep you on track.
- Small wins are celebrated, keeping you motivated.
2. Collective Knowledge Speeds Up Success
Instead of learning the hard way, you can borrow wisdom from those who’ve already done it.
- Someone else in your group has probably faced the challenge you’re struggling with right now—and they can help you solve it.
- You gain access to proven strategies, without trial and error.
- You get a variety of perspectives, which helps you make better decisions.
3. Encouragement Fuels Persistence
Let’s be real—entrepreneurship can be lonely. Doubt creeps in. You hit roadblocks. But a supportive community keeps you going.
- When you feel like quitting, they remind you why you started.
- You see others succeeding, and it proves what’s possible for you.
- You have a safe space to ask questions, vent frustrations, and stay motivated.
4. Connections Create Opportunities
Success isn’t just about knowledge—it’s about who you know.
- The right introduction can land you a client, partner, or mentor.
- Collaborations naturally happen within a strong community.
- Being surrounded by like-minded people elevates your thinking and network.
5. Implementation Beats Information
You don’t need another 10-hour course. You need a space to implement what you’ve already learned.
- A community pushes you to take action, not just consume content.
- You get real-time feedback so you can adjust and improve faster.
- It shifts your focus from "learning mode" to "doing mode."
What’s Next?
If you’re tired of going at it alone, consider joining a group where learning and action happen together. Whether it’s a mastermind, a coaching program, or an online membership, surround yourself with people who will push you, support you, and celebrate with you.
