How to Plan Your Week in 5 Minutes
I've tried every type of analog and digital planner over the years, and all had their pros and cons.
Eventually, I created a simple one-page productivity sheet that I call: The Messenger's Weekly Focus Dashboard.
Every Monday, I print out a new version and take just 5 minutes to fill out the following:
-
Write Down Weekly Appointments
Start with your hard, fixed items—like coaching calls, podcast interviews, and networking events. These are non-negotiables, so getting them on paper first gives structure to your week. -
Revisit Your BIG Three Quarterly Goals
Keeping your main goals front and center ensures you stay focused on what matters most. -
Define Your BIG Three Weekly Sprint Projects
Look at each quarterly goal and ask:- “What mini-project can I tackle this week to move this goal forward?”
This keeps your momentum going without overwhelming yourself.

List Your Daily Habits
Consistency builds businesses. Whether it's a daily social media post, a weekly email newsletter, or a set number of YouTube videos, write down the habits you need to prioritize this week. -
Capture Miscellaneous To-Dos
Have a section for all those extra tasks that pop up during the week. This helps you stay organized and prevents things from falling through the cracks. -
Set Your BIG Three for Today
Once the rest of your dashboard is complete, decide on the three most important tasks you must finish by the end of today. Of course, you'll do more than three things, but these are your non-negotiables.
💡 Pro Tip: Keep the dashboard visible all week so it’s easy to reference and update as needed.
Tomorrow, I’ll share a link to download a free PDF version of The Messenger’s Weekly Focus Dashboard—so keep an eye on your inbox!
